Mangaluru: Proposal for regulating a new gas terminal, with an estimated cost of Rs 3,200 Crore, in Tannirbavi in the pipeline, said Sarbanou Sonowal, Minister of Union Port, Shipping & Ayush Minister.
He spoke on the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ program held at the Business Development Center (BDC) building from New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) in Panambur on Friday.
Previously on that day, the minister dedicated the construction of a new BDC NMPT, laid the foundation for the modernization of the mallya gate, and initiated a new truck terminal work near the NMPT KK gate.
This project will increase the capacity of NMPT, and the port will get its own identity, he said, adding the government is committed to developing a fisheries port in Kulai in Mangaluru, and the steps will be taken to implement the project quickly.
