Berlin: German officials said on Friday that economic damage from floods in the west of the country would be very large.
More than half of 53 countries in the North Rhine-Westphalia state were influenced by flooding, which damaged hundreds of buildings.
At least 43 people died in the state.
North Rhine-Westphalia Governor, Armin Laschet, said the flood has “really pulled the ground from under the feet of many people.
