Berlin: Germany Minister of Health calls on Tuesday for further restrictions to contain a “dramatic” surge in Coronavirus cases because the country’s infection rate reaches a record high and the United States suggests that it is not there.
The incidence of seven days – the number of people per 100,000 will be infected during the past week – reaching 399.8 on Tuesday, up from 386.5 on Monday, data from Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases shows.
Health Minister Jens Spahn called for more public spaces to be limited to those who were vaccinated or recently recovered from Covid-19 and also had a negative test, in an effort to load the fourth wave of Germany.
Spahn did not rule out locking, even though he said this would be decided by the region.
Some areas such as Hit-hit Saxony and Bavaria have taken steps such as canceling the Christmas market.
“The situation is not only serious, in some areas in Germany is now dramatic,” said Spahn to German radio.
“We have to move patients around because the intensive care unit is full and it does not only affect Covid-19 patients.” With Germany wrestling with concerns about the supply of bionech / pfizer vaccines, the company brought one million dosage shipments which was originally planned for December, Spahn told the Ministry of Health officials on Monday, according to two government sources.
It will allow it to give 3 million instead of 2 million doses next week when people rush to get a photo shoot and appointments in the vaccine centers booked.
Whether it will affect the total number of vaccines assigned to Germany for the remaining years to be decided, said the source.
Waves in cases in Germany, and in Denmark neighbors, encourage the control center and prevention of U8.
