Berlin: Germany booked a ski holiday earlier than before and at a higher price than 2019 before the Coronavirus hit, Tui Group, the largest vacation group in the world, said Monday.
“Previously having a ski vacation had been booked earlier this year.
The demand has exceeded 2019 so far,” said Stefan Baumert, managing director at Tui Germany.
TUI is the largest winter sports operator and has around 2,000 hotels in 70 ski resorts and 28 countries.
Baumer said the biggest demand was for resorts in Austria and South Tyrol in Italy and estimated popular ski hotels would be fully booked during Christmas and New Year.
Among the warmer destinations, the demand is very strong for the Canary Islands, said Marek Andryszak, chairman of the German Tui Executive Board, while Maldives, Dominican Republic and Dubai are popular remote destinations.
