Berlin: The new Covid-19 infection in Germany has reached their highest level in almost three months in the midst of a steady increase that was powered by the Delta variant.
The National Disease Control Center, The Robert Koch Institute, said Saturday that 51.6 new cases per 100,000 residents were reported for the past seven days.
This is the first time since May 25 that the infection rate above 50, but has increased because it reached a low of 4.9 in early July.
The disease control center said that 8,092 new cases were reported for the last 24 hours, up from 5,644 a week before.
More cases will be detected as the end of the final summer and children return to school in some parts of Germany.
The German authority has tried to revive the Covid-19 vaccination drive of the country, which has slowed down.
Official numbers show that 63.8% of the German population have received at least one vaccine dose on Thursday and 58.5% vaccinated completely.
