Patna: Some committees and organizers of Durga Puja in the city have decided to highlight various social problems and increase awareness about them through their pandal.
Vijay Vahini Durga Puja Samiti in Anandpuri, for example, is preparing a pandal that will look similar to the Kedarnath Temple.
Santosh Kumar, Samiti member, told this newspaper on Monday that the streets were decorated with rainbow colored ribbons and colorful lights.
“This year we have decided to install Dewi Durga’s idol that present a crown to a doctor, Saraswati nurtured a police officer, and Lakshmi gave a crown to sanitation workers,” he said, adding that special arrangements for vaccination people would also be made.

Explaining the importance of three idols, Santosh shows, “We will pay respect for doctors, police, and all other frontline workers, who work tirelessly during the Covid-19 pandemic.” Vijay Vahini Durga Puja Samiti will also put up banners asking people to wear masks, keep distance, and use sanitisers.
Ravi Shankar, Samiti Puja Organizers Nayagaon at Patna City, said the road would be decorated with colorful flowers.
“Flowers represent a new beginning.
Therefore, we will use both artificial flowers brought from New Delhi and the original from Kolkata and Bengaluru for decorating a pandal,” he added.
Pandal will have six Idol Dewi Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Tulsi, Lord Kartikya, and Ganesha.
Five priests will come to Patna from Varanasi for the Prayer Service from 7 to 15 October.
