Chikkamagaluru: BJP MPS Pratap Simea and Tejasvi Surya on Thursday faced the anger of Hindu activists during their visit to inaugurate the hospital in Mudigere.
Both were beaten by activists who condemned the demolition of the temple recently in Nanjangud Taluk.
The two leaders tried to calm the crowd and said Congress tried to get the political mileage from the incident.
On September 8, Mahadevamma Temple in Huchchagani Village in Nanjangud Taluk was destroyed following the direction of the Supreme Court.
Speaking to Journalists Tejasvi Surya, said suddenly the leaders of the Congress had become religious and sympathetic to Hindus and projected themselves as rescuers of Hinduism.
“Don’t fall in love with their guiles.
Congress celebrates Tipu Jayanti even though there are so many Hindus against it.
Now they sing different songs,” said the members of the South Bengaluru parliament.
Simea admitted that people were upset with the demolition drive.
The Chairman of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai has promised to make a decision on this issue after consulting with the cabinet, he told the demonstrators.
“We will study the Supreme Court’s command in detail and issue a specific direction in this matter,” CM said three days ago.
