Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will increase efforts to bind with private companies to maintain green belts efficiently throughout the city.
According to officials, the direction for this effect was given by the Chairman of Manohar Minister Lal Khattar, who is also the GMDA chairman, during the authorities earlier this month.
At the meeting, Khattar suggested that the responsibility of keeping green belts is increasingly given to private companies, with belts allocated for them for maintenance and focusing on the development of horticulture.
He increasingly recommended that the competition arranged between the company also for the best green belt rating “maintained” on various parameters.
However, officials from GMDA, talking about the condition of anonymity, however, said this task was easier to say than done, but convinced them would make efforts for this purpose.
“We have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with companies interested in maintaining green belts as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Overall, 60 mouses have been signed so far, some of them for green belts.
This work has been done and if The company is found to not maintain according to the necessary standards, we will cancel Mou to take part in a review after three months, “said a senior GMDA official who did not want to be named.
“However, it is not easy to make people do such projects.
When an institution or company has a green belt near their location, they are still willing to do work because they also benefit from it, but no one wants to maintain a belt.
If it’s not in their area.
However, we are willing to give such responsibility to anyone who is advanced, so they at least maintain what is close to their location, “added the official.
Apart from Roping in the company to keep the green belt, officials say that the chairman has also directed that the road is identified every month for the beauty of the green belt, which should be held well.
Furthermore Khattar directed that efforts increased to eliminate encroachment and, after this was done, the steps were consumed to have land and avoid further recipulation, with “personal responsibility” of this official was also being repaired in this context.
