Gurgaon: The next population advisory board (RAC) under the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) may have a better representation of women.
Officials revealed that decisions had been taken to make more concentrated efforts to include more women on the council.
At present, RAC has a total of 14 members – all are men.
According to officials, this problem has emerged for discussion at the July RAC meeting and the last meeting in September.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has directed that “maturity measures” taken for the inclusion of women in the RAC.
He also suggested that “at least one third of members” the elected council among women.
“This does not mean there will be a reservation for women.

RAC at this time from GMDA was the first formed.
It was made in 2018 and held his first meeting in 2019.
With a tenure of two years later it ended in December, officials said the process had begun to form a new RAC.
“The new RAC, which will be formed in December, will be applied by 2023.
We aim to ensure that from the next promotion itself, there is a better representation of women,” the official said.
In accordance with the GMDA Law, the RAC role is “to give advice to authority and provide guidance on the implementation of its power and functionality”.
It consists of the CEO of GMDA and the corporate commissioner of Gurgaon City (MCG), Deputy Commissioner, Head of Administration Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), up to four officers of the authority that can be nominated, up to three state-owned or corporate government officials or corporate agencies By the state government that can be nominated by the Executive Committee, and between ten and fifteen people who are regional occupants who are notified, including the association of resident welfare, civil society, labor, industry.
