Old Goa: A 54-year-old man, Joseph Dias, died after he was attacked at the supermarket in Old Goa, over the argument about jumping the queue.
The attackers, pawar shacks, cannot be traced.
The incident occurred earlier this month, when Joseph shopped at the Mart with Caroline’s wife.
Joseph was waiting in the queue to pay his bill, because Caroline waited in another unmanned cash counter for Joseph to complete the transaction.
Looking in a hurry, the supermarket staff decided to open a unmanned counter, for the bill.
When the counter opened, Caroline was the first person in line.
But the pawar suddenly rushed from his place in the queue to the cash counters.
In the process, he pushed Caroline to the side and took place in the queue.
He and several other customers objected to the acts of pawar.
Joseph then rushed to his wife’s defense.
FIR said the pawar got a rough dirty language and used language.
After completing their bill, the Dias couple headed to the parking lot.
Here, the pawar allegedly followed them and attacked Joseph on the head, which made him lose balance and fell on concrete, causing serious injury to him, said FIR.
Joseph who was injured was taken to Goa Medical College for treatment.
Joseph suffered brain bleeding and he breathed his last breath on September 20, after struggling for his life for 17 days.
Postmortem’s report stated that death occurred due to blunt strength damage to the head, family said.
The police said the pawar had fled to Kolkata, went with its location, which was tracked.
In addition to the CCTV footage of the crime, the police have recorded an eyewitness statement.
“Complaints have been registered by the police under section 325 (voluntarily cause sad injuries), which is a violation of being responded to, and allows the defendant to be released.
Pawar should be ordered under Section 307, which is an attempt to kill.
