Panaji: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Thursday directing government officials to track the recruitment process quickly.
About 8,000 jobs have been advertised and around 2,000 jobs will be advertised within a week, he said and added that the Department of Personnel has given approval for the vacancies to be advertised.
Sawant said that before the election ethics code began to apply, the process would be completed.
The state government has set a December 31 deadline to recruit 10,000 people.
The minister’s chairman held a meeting with all Department Heads (HODs) and managed the corporate director, institutions and councils at the Secretariat.
“We discuss obstacles in the recruitment process and officials have directed to track the recruitment process quickly so that it is finished before the deadline,” Sawant said.
He said that during the meeting he took ongoing project reviews and to see when they would be finished.
He also said that he took reviews to see when the project could begin and when the foundation stone could be placed.
“I have received the date and on December 19, we will inaugurate many projects and lay stones for new projects,” CM said.
Sawant said that there were more than 150 projects ready for inauguration, including 45 projects carried out by the corporation development of Goa State infrastructure, 40 PWD projects, WRD and electricity.
“I have told the department of certainty to inaugurate projects with the ministers concerned,” he said.
About 75% of the project will be ready for immediate inauguration, the ministerial head.
Sawant said that he also discussed reforms that needed to be taken during the two-day winter session of the Goa Legislative Assembly and officials who were directed at introducing bills and amendments.
The minister’s chairman said that he had directed officials to send a utilization certificate to the Indian government to get funds under various schemes.
He also said that the discussion was held to apply 80 schemes under the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme.
