Panaji: Congress put on a brave face after former state party President Luizinho Faleiro resigned as Mla on Monday, and even said the exit Faleiro was “blessing in disguise” for a party.
All Indian Congress Committee tables are responsible for Goa, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that Faleiro’s resignation would instill fresh energy into congressional workers and challenge them to work harder for the upcoming election.
Although the resignation of Faleiro has handled the morale of party workers, senior Congress officials welcomed his decision, saying that former MLA Navelim had lost voters.
“I never thought that after benefiting from the party, and at this point, I didn’t expect a man from his stature to do small and selfish things,” said Rao who rushed to Goa on Monday because Congress entered the control mode.
Congress claims that Faleiro has distanced himself from the party, failed to participate in party agitation and events and worked on the anti-Congress camp command.
“We have information that he has lost his touch with people.
We actually have surveyed and rejected what must be done with constituencies because the results of Zilla Panchayat are also bad and there are many negative feedback towards him in the election,” Rao said.
Former Navelim MLA and Minister of Avertano Furtado are expected to join the congress in the coming days.
“Sometimes this kind of event really gives us more energy.
Now we have something to be proven.
I think this is a blessing disguise,” Rao said.
President of the President of the President of Girish Chodankar and the opposition leader drawn Kamat said that Faleiro’s resignation was a development that was unfavorable for the party.
“The message that has come out is that Luizinho tried to stop the Congress to win the election.
You can’t cheat Goa people,” Chodankar said.
Meanwhile, amid speculation that he can go by TMC, former Calangute Mla Agnelo Fernandes has been called to Delhi by the Comment High Command on Tuesday.
He is likely to meet senior leaders, including Rahul Gandhi.
