PANAJI: Goa state pollution control board (GSPCB) Chairman Ganesh Shetgaonkar on Friday said that the final draft study report “source source” to determine the cause of air pollution in Vasco will be submitted to rise next week by IIT-Bombay.
The apropriation source tracks sources and measures the amount of ambient air pollution.
Residents from around the port city have increased the issue of pollution from coal in Vasco and demanded that coal handling stopped.
Shethgaonkar said that Iit-Bombay would submit a final draft report.
“The report will be placed before the Board Meeting and it will be published afterwards,” he said.
After discussing and suggesting changes to the IIT-Bombay’s draft draft about the study of source superiors, the report was sent back to the Institute to allow it to include some corrections and submit a revised draft.
The state has witnessed some agitation because air pollution in the port city and this report is expected to ensure the exact cause of pollution.
Iit-Bombay has submitted a report on a report on the Source Apropriation Study to GSCPB in September, after the Board Technical Advisory Committee gave his own advice.
The Institute was assigned to conduct a source supervisor study after charges of coal pollution in Vasco.
The first phase of the report has stated that coal is not the only mineral responsible for air pollution in the area.
A senior GSPCB official said that while the temporary report did not show the reasons for pollution in Vasco, the second phase would provide details about the right source of pollution.
