Panaji: Following his party’s victory in the election of the West Benggalang Assembly, Head of Minister of Mamata Banerjee, has now looked at the assembly selection of 2022 Goa with the intention of increasing the Trinamool Congress in the state of his house.
TMC senior officials, including the leader of the Parliamentary Party at Rajya Sabha Derek and Lok Sabha MP Banerjee Spring, are already in Goa to assess the political situation before taking a plunge.
TMC has held initial talks with several politicians, political candidates, and political scientists to have a fair evaluation of its prospects.
Two days ago, in Kolkata, Mamata said that TMC would continue the Goa Assembly poll to be held early next year.
The source said Mamata planned to visit Goa immediately.
This is not the first time TMC enters Goa.
In 2012, under the leadership of the former Minister of Main Wilfred De Souza, TMC challenged 20 seat assembly but could not open an account.
Total TMC sound share in the 2012 assembly selection below 2%.
In 2014, Churchill Alemao did not succeed in opposing Lok Sabha’s selection on TMC tickets from South Goa.
The source said TMC had approached the senior Congress Mla Luizinho Faleiro and urged him to join the party along with his group.
The source said they might offer him the chair of Rajya Sabha before he stopped Congress and joined TMC.
But Faleiro rejected this speculation and said: “I haven’t met TMC leader …
I have heard that TMC leaders come to Goa.” And even when his name did a round, AICC formed the 13-member election committee for Goa led by Faleiro.
For a few days now, the Mamata political strategist, Prashant Kishor’s representative has held a meeting at Goa-Mlaas, former MLA, social activists and writers – to understand Goa’s political scenarios.
N Shivda, a writer and former Congress official claimed that some MLA, former MLA, doctors and advocates were related to the Kishor team.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Sawant Pramod and State President BJP Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that in democracy every party had the right to oppose the election in any circumstances and it would not have an impact.
“Everyone comes to Goa because Goa is a famous country.
Let them come …
Everyone can come.
It doesn’t make a difference if they fight for elections.
We can’t stop anyone from the contest,” said Minister of Pramod Sawant’s Minister.
“TMC is like other political parties,” Tanaavade added.
