Mumbai: Shivaji Nagar Police, investigating the Gangrap of a 20-year-old woman in Govandi, caught the fourth allegations, a 19-year-old child, from Panvel where he was hiding near the workplace of his father and preparing to escape from the country to avoid catching.
Three people, two of them were minors, were arrested on Saturday.
The woman, who worked for a catering company, was raped by four men in the Shivaji Nagar Govandi area when she returned home around 4am on Friday, a police officer said, asked for anonymity.
The police said the four defendants saw the woman near the old best depot and one of the men, who knew her, asked her about going home late.
He told him that he wanted to talk to him and took him to the mezzanine floor empty house.
His friends followed them and they took turns to rape him before running away.
The police said that when the woman tried to scream aid, the men clogged it.
The girl who traumatized called the police by telephone and filed a complaint.
The police sent the woman to Rajawadi’s hospital for a medical examination and formed a team to arrest the defendant.
Dhajay Deodikar detection officers and Navnath Kale officers, Dnyaneshwar Patil and Sub-Inspector Bansode arrested a 20-year-old Tempo driver and underage children from Dongri, and another minor of Shivaji Nagar.
In learning that the fourth defendant hid near the workplace of his father in Panvel, a team arrived there and arrested him on Sunday.
“He went to Panvel thinking he would take refuge and escape to other countries to avoid arrest,” police said.
Both children in the household have been sent to Dongri’s children, and two other defendants have been turned on in police custody until January 28.
