New Delhi: Populating the way for transformation of fossil fuel ecosystems in this country, the Ministry of Road Transportation and Highway has issued a notification concept to facilitate the use of a mixture of 12 percent and 15 percent of ethanol in automotive fuel.
Comments have been invited from stakeholders within a period of 30 days.
“The newly produced gasoline vehicle in accordance with compatible spark ignition machines to run on a mixture of E-12 ethanol and E-15 gasoline is the type that is approved according to the gasoline emissions norms that apply,” said the concept notification, recently, the Minister of Transportation And Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari said the government would make a decision on flex-flash machines because they consider making mandatory for the car industry.

Gadkari has mentioned that car makers produce Flex fuel machines in Brazil, Canada and the US which provide alternatives for customers to use 100 percent of gasoline or 100 percent bio-ethanol.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the target date to reach 20 percent of ethanol-blending with gasoline has been developed five years to 2025 to cut pollution and reduce import dependence.
The government last year has set a target of 10 percent of the mixed ethanol in gasoline in 2022 and 20 percent of doping in 2030.
Gadkari said ethanol was better fuel than gasoline, and it was a substitute for import, pollution.
