Jaipur: The state has revoked the order on Tuesday to cancel medium holidays for diwali in government schools after the teacher expressed their unhappiness.
Minister of Education Govind Singh Takes to Social Media to announce that schools will now remain closed from October 27 to November 7.
The previous secondary education directorate has notified that the school will remain closed for only three days from November 4 instead of 10-15 days.
The decision was taken considering the fact that students had to face learning losses due to covid-induced locking.
However, government school teachers threatened to protest the state on October 14 if medium-term holidays were not announced.
A group of government teachers protested in the constituency of the Ashok Gehlot minister on Wednesday demanding a vacation.
Narayan Singh Sisodia, President Rajasthan Shikshak Evam Pancayati Raj Karamchari Sangh, said, “This is a welcome step for teachers.
We understand that students do not come to school but we have fulfilled our duties every day.
So, we deserve to do it to rest and celebrate Festival with our family.
“” We respect the decision of the state government to take over the vacation, “said Sisodia.
An official in the Ministry of Education, provided anonymously, “we agree that the teacher comes to school, but the learning loses everything facing students.
These months cannot be compensated.
The command is a good decision, but the bank chooses more important.”
