Vadodara: The National Milk Development Board (NDDB) and the Assam Government will form a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to promote milk in Assam.
Observing the Chairperson of the NDDB Meenesh Shah presented the Map of Development of Milk Assam before the Head of Assam Minister Dr.
Himanta Buswa Sarma on Monday in Guwahati.
Atul Bora, Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine was also present during the meeting.
Sarma wants to promote the pendai as a livelihood in Assam.
He wants to reach the target of handling around 10 latric liters of milk per day at the end of the project period, Shah said.
CM emphasizes that initiatives must be commercially feasible and quite remunerative for assam dairy farmers.
Shah said that the plan would include the manufacture of processing infrastructure, village level institutions and milk marketing and dairy products.
“Simultaneously, the increase in productivity of MANSH animals will be achieved through increasing scope of artificial insemination, the use of cement sorted gender, induced animal that produces high, calf child care program and intervention in feed and feed,” he said.
The Assam Government previously asked NDDB to manage the West Assam Milk Cooperative Union (Wamul) which was on the closing threshold.
NDDB has taken control of its management in 2008.
Maintaining the effect of NDDB intervention in restoring / reviving milk cooperative institutions, the Government Assam has agreed to another extension of the management of Wamul NDDB for a period of five years.
The same agreement was signed on August 6.
