Athens: The Greek Prime Minister fired the country’s Minister of Agriculture on Monday after the video appeared from him laughing because a local party official explained how compensation for natural disasters could help win the election.
A statement of the government said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke to the minister, Spilios Livanos, to demand an explanation for his reaction to “unacceptable references.” The statement said Livanos “admitted that he should react differently” and offered his resignation, received.
The video from the Livanos meeting was present last week in Sparta in South Greece.
In it, a former cabinet official when the New Mitsotakis Conservative Democracy Party was in the government in 2004-2009, was heard that the party was able to win the 2007 election to opportunities “by taking a bag (money) compensation” people who suffered forest fires has damaged the southern Greece the previous week, killing a number of people.

Greece’s next parliamentary election is scheduled for next year.
