VADODARA: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) captured a Depot Manager Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) posted in Halol to accept RS 10,000 bribes from a driver, also employed with the state transportation company, on Wednesday.
ACB officials said that the driver complained of the depot manager identified as Hemantkumar Patel because he demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from him.
The driver used to operate on the dahod-letter route, but Patel allocated the rotation route between Dahod and letters since September 9, asked Patel to assign him to a fixed route since some time.
Patel agreed, but asked the driver to pay a bribe of Rs 10,000.
After a repeated request to Patel, the driver gave ACB’s complaint against the Depot Manager.
ACB Sleuth decided to catch Patel through the trap they asked for the driver to approve his demands.
When the driver named Patel, the last one asked him to send money in the GSRTC workshop complex on Wednesday.
Once Patel received cash, the absence of ACB arrested him.
