New Delhi: Deputy Chairman of Delhi Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday urged the center to issue guidelines for the Chhath Festival as soon as possible after consulting health experts.
Chhath celebrations in public places have been banned by the Delhi government considering Covid-19, which leads to protests by BJP.
In a letter to the Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Sisodia said CHHAT was a historic festival that was celebrated in North India, including Delhi, with many devotion.
Last year, the decision to celebrate Chhath was taken in the country per direction of the Indian government considering the pandemic.
Chhath Celebration on the banks of the river, the water body and other public places in Delhi were banned last year, he wrote.
Deputy Minister’s head urged Mandaviya to issue guidelines after consulting with health experts and other people so that people in North India can celebrate devotion and safety.
Previously, Chairman of Minister Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said the decision to ban Chhath celebrations in public places was taken considering the health and safety of the people because of Covid-19.
