Ahmedabad: Moving abroad is not easy, and if you have to take a loan to achieve your dreams, the process turns into a big burden.
However, there is a region in Gujarat where people plan to immigrate legally or even illegally can not only take advantage of Lakh loans with 0% interest, but also not obliged to return money.
While beneficiaries do not have to pay emis, most of them usually pay more than they receive back to the community.
Ankit Patel, 21, from Kalol Town in Gandhinagar District wants to go to the US but does not have financial means to take loans from the bank.
He approached local trust that raised money from the community to finance young people with dreams of studying abroad.
Within a week, the money was arranged, and Ankit fulfilled his dream.
As soon as he settled in the state of Pennsylvania the US, he returned twice the amount he took as a loan back to trust.
There are various beliefs like that in a region called ‘Dollariyo Pradesh’ in the north and the central Gujarat who financially helps young men and women to pursue their desire to settle abroad.
According to the local population, this belief is informal and mainly run by the local community.
Bhavin Patel, 42, is a resident of Dingucha in Kalol Taluka from Gandhinagar who recently came to the center of attention after a family of four from the village froze to death when trying to cross illegally to the US from Canada.
He said that every family had at least one member settled in the US, Canada, or Australia.
“This does not mean that everyone has money to send their family members abroad.
We have trust in the village that raises money solely for the purpose of sending people abroad,” Bhavin said.
Someone needs around Rs 15 Lakh to Rs 30 Lakh to immigrate through various ways.
“Trust gives money to men or women who go abroad with zero percent interest.
They also do not have the EMI system.
However, once the person settled in a foreign country, he voluntarily returned more than what they got from trust,” said Bhavin.
Four family members have settled in the US after receiving assistance from trust.
“They repayed more than they pinjam’arvind Patel from a village in Kadiruns, one of the beliefs.
He has helped at least 15 people immigrated in the past year.” When we saw people struggling to go abroad because of obstacles Finance, we make informal trust and ask community members to contribute funds.
This money is used to send young people abroad.
Once they settled there, they finally returned more than the amount loaned to them.
Until now, we have never had a case where someone failed to return money, “said Arvind, who is a farmer.
He added,” We paid a total of Rs 2.50 Crores up to 15 people who went to the US.
They have returned at least Rs 3 Crore.
We will use this fund to fulfill other youth dreams.
