Vadodara: Police in the state may have a reason to worry – Gujarat has been placed among the top three states in this country for the death of custodian for the past few years.
On Thursday, other custodian deaths were reported from Godhra Taluka in Panchmahal Regency.
Qasim Hayat, who was arrested in a beef seller racquet, committed suicide by hanging himself with a piece of cloth at the Godhra police station.
Meanwhile, crime in India in 2020, a report released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has revealed that the number of mortgages last year in Gujarat was the highest.
Fifteen people, who were in police custody without remand, died in various district districts in 2020.
Of these, six were cases of suicide by the defendant and six were deaths from disease.
According to the report, the magisterial investigation has been ordered to be 12 cases of this Custodian death while the judicial investigation has been ordered in one case.
The case has been registered only in two incidents but no loaded charge sheet.
In 2019, the state was ranked second in custodian deaths throughout the country.
Three accused of committing suicide while five died of the disease and one of the injuries survived due to physical attacks when they were detained, according to the NCRB report.
In the case of the death of the Sheikh Babu Nesar’s death, which disappeared from police detention at Vadodara in December 2019, CID (crime) has not traced his body.
Allegedly a thief, Sheikh was picked up by the police from mejigunj and was taken to the Fatehgunj police station to be questioned.
He was never seen again.
Six police arrested for the death of the Sheikh Custodian in 2020.
While 14 police officers were arrested in connection with the death of the Custodian in 2019, not a single police officer had been arrested in every death of the custodian that occurred in 2020.
In 2018, Gujarat for the Custodian death list in the country with 14 people who are dying in temporary police custody number 10 in 2017.
Suicide and disease is one of the main causes for custodian death in the last three years.
