Rajkot: In the midst of the increasing Covid-19 case and the threat caused by an Omicron variant which was very transmitting, Gujarat BJP MLA from Saurabh Patel’s bottle on Monday sharing videos on Facebook from the night cricket tournament held by his party where most of the crowd could be seen without mask and do not hold on to social blasphemy norms.
However, Patel, former State Energy Minister, defended himself who said there was no case Covid-19 at this time in his constituency botituad, where the tournament was held.
He also said the tournament was launched almost a month ago when the number of cases was ignored.
Meanwhile, the Range IG Bhavnagar Ashok Yadav ordered the botanics of the police to investigate how such events were arranged in the midst of concerns Covid-19.
“I saw the video and had instructed the police supervisor (botad) to investigate how this event was held and submitted a report,” Yadav told Toi.
Videos that became viral were the final tournament match played on Saturday between two wards on government middle school land, and inside the audience, many without masks, could be seen running into the field as part of the celebration of victory.
Former Indian Cricketer Munaf Patel, along with MLA Patel, handed over the tournament trophy.
Saurabh Patel claimed except the final, several people arose and all Covid-19 norms were followed during other matches, adding that 140 teams from the assembly area participated in the tournament.
“There are not many crowds in the previous match.
People appear in large quantities for the final, which is beyond our expectations.
We decided to complete the game (so as not to disappoint those who had come),” said Mla Frombotad.
Gujarat has seen a stable increase in the past few days, with active calculations now standing at 948 on Sunday.
