Rajkot: City Police arrested four people including a Marwadi University and DJS music teacher to hold a new year party on Friday night without taking permission and also violated Covid guidelines.
Videos from dance parties become viral on social media where students from private universities are seen dancing to DJ music while celebrating New Year’s Eve.
In the midst of covid restrictions it applies throughout the state after the increasing number of cases, the committee does not take police permits needed to regulate social functions.
According to sources, more than 500 students have gathered at the party and most are seen without wearing their masks.
A university student who was recently tested by Covid Positive and was also suspected of being an Omicron variant case.
The police believed that the massive level events were not possible without students who took university management permits and blamed management to show negligence on the seriousness of increased Covid cases.
While the police have not ordered any students at this stage, if the role of any student in organizing parties was found, they will be ordered.
The police will take the accused statements and others from management and if more guilty people will find they will be ordered for further action.
Speaking with Toi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone – 2 Manoharsharsh Jadeja said, “We will also improve management responsibilities because the party is held on campus.
They did not take permission from the police and video recordings showed a violation of Covid guidelines.
We will take strict action on Each meeting that won Covid norms.
“According to the police, the party began at around 9pm on Friday and continued until 10:15 a.m.
Kuvadva Road police got a party message and sent a team to the University at 10:30 a.m., but at that time the party was over.
Police arrested Malaav Maru (39) University music teachers like he was party organizers.
The other accused of being Jigar Mehta (27) who took contracts from all events and two DJs, Parth Patel (29) and Shiva Acharya (25).
The four have been arrested and more arrests are expected to continue investigations.
The defendant had been ordered under the IPC part of 188 for violating public notifications and section 135 of the GP law.
