Vadodara: Forty days after his wife lost in mysterious state, the Ajay Desai police inspector is now considered a suspect by the researchers.
The police said that the role of the village had been suspicious from the start because he did not show much interest in tracking his wife Sweety who disappeared on June 5 from their home in Karjan.
“We are investigating cases from all angles.
Desai is also a suspect in this case and that is why we have tested a polygraph test and suspect detection test,” said Sudhir Kumar Desai, police supervisor.
Previously, the police were looking for sweety and had distributed their photos in public places.
But after police found several bones from a house left in the village of Atali Dahej last week, investigations took a new turn.
The bone was sent to the FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY (FSL) letter for the test and the police knew on Tuesday that the bones were human.
The bones are burned.
The police are now waiting for further results to ascertain whether the bones of a woman or man.
“We have also taken a sample of DNA from a two-year-old child Sweety.
They will be matched with bone samples,” said a police officer.
The thirty-seven-year-old sweety was missing from his house in Karjan on June 5, her husband, Ajay Desai, who was a special operating group (SOG) Police Inspector before being put in the backup leave, had told the police that Sweety went home alone.
Sweety’s sister then filed a complaint that was lost with Karjan police.
“Ajay stated that he left his house on June 5 but we scan the footage of CCTV cameras from the area where the pair remains.
There is no evidence that he left his house,” the police said.
A month after he lost, SP Sudhir Kumar Desai ordered an investigation into this case.
Ajay and Sweety married in 2015 and lived in Karjan.
