Vadodara: Police decisions to seek help from the public in tracking lost wives from police inspectors do not produce the desired results.
Although many good Samaritans will come to help, the input provided by them leads the police does not exist.
Sweety, wife of Police Inspector Ajay Desai, has been lost for the last 37 days.
The mysterious loss has confused the police because the investigation has not revealed a rotten game.
Police returned a few days distributing notifications with Sweety photos and other details in public places.
The police got a call from residents who believed that they had information about Sweety but the lead caused police sent to wild goose chase.
“We continue to get a tip-off of people across the state.
Some even claim to have seen it.
But when we investigate their claims, it turned out wrong,” said Kalpesh Solanki, a rural DYSP) deputy (DYSP).
One of the first calls obtained by the police came from Anand where the caller said that he had seen Sweety.
“Then someone from Ahmedabad made the same claim.
We got a call even from MT Abu in Rajasthan and also Modhera.
In cross verification, the claim turned out to be wrong,” Soanki, who was demanding an investigation, said.
Three days ago, a man from Patan claimed to have given a lift to Sweety.
He also told the police that an older man accompanied him.
“We sent our team to Patan to verify his claim.
He misreaded several other women for Sweety,” Soanki added.
Sweety lost from his house in Karjan on June 5.
Even though Sweety’s brother approached the police the day after he lost, the police began a serious investigation in this case only six days ago.
