Bhubaneswar: The train on Monday canceled several trains because the track was flooded in several places in Andhra Pradesh following heavy rain after a hurricane.
East Coast Railway (Ecor) cancels eight trains, including Visakhapatnam-RayaGada Special, Rourkela-Jagadalpur Special, Rayagada-Visakhapatnam Special and Jagadalpur-Rourkela Special, in the Visakhapatnam-Vizianagaram-Rayagada section under the Waltair Division.
While some of these trains were canceled for Monday, the rest for Tuesday.
In addition, several trains from Visakhapatnam may be delayed because of waterlogging in the coaching depot and several other regions that will affect train services in Odisha too.
“Some places in the Ringgada and Coraput districts are vulnerable to landslides.
Therefore, the train was canceled in these areas,” a train officer said.
Considering the cyclone situation, the train zone has canceled 10 passenger trains again for Monday and Tuesday.
It previously canceled 34 trains remembering the storm and afterwards.
Officials said several trains were canceled due to delays in connecting the train.
Puri-Shalimar-Puri Special (08466/08465) from Puri on Monday and from Shalimar on Tuesday was canceled because it ran the end of the train connecting.
The source said the regular service will continue after the lowuting water from the track at Andhra Pradesh.
“Ecor will receive this call immediately after assessing the situation.
At present, many trains run through the route diverted,” said an official.
ECOR, so far, hasn’t talked about any train damage because of the cyclone.
