Gurugram: fast-mile connectivity fight every day for residents of the new sector

Gurugram: The absence of a strong transportation system, both public and private, has made a daily challenge for residents of the new Gurugram sectors developed 58 to 115 along the South Peripheral Road, Jalan Extension Golf Course, Border Dwarka Expressway and Manesar.
The un-maintained road, lack of street lighting and remote stretches in the area just worsened the problem.
To fulfill the appointments of daily meetings, or even make it to the airport or train station on time, residents of these sectors, which have begun after 2005 as real estate developers began to build condos and commercial space in the area, very dependent on personal applications.
-Basis cabin services, which are also difficult to find.
Residents say they often finally pay double the cost or for the return trip to the Kherki Daula toll road to secure a vehicle.
Isha Sharma, a resident of sector 89, said earlier this week he had to leave the crucial office meeting at the last moment after he failed to order a taxi even though it began early.
“I tried ordering a taxi on several application-based applications but failed to get it.
It wasn’t the first time when my work was hampered because of a taxi’s noisy near my house.
Finding a trip during the morning hours is always very difficult,” he said.
Priyanka Acharyya, a resident of Vipul Lavanya, said some time ago he had to take a flight early in the morning he had to leave around 4am.
“I managed to order a taxi, but the driver did not respond to repetitive phone calls and never appeared at a pick-up place.
Finally, my husband had to take me to the airport,” he said.
Kherki Dala Toll, said residents, further worsening their problems.
The taxi driver on the other side of the victim, they claimed, was reluctant to issue Rs 70 of their bags to cross the toll and pick up passengers from these sectors.
Suraj Kumar, the taxi driver, said, “This area is still developing and is currently inhabited in a scattered way.
If the driver is on the Gurgaon side, they tend to avoid receiving a vehicle on the other side because it will imply a toll tax from our own pocket.
Next, Some communities are in the interior, where there is no right path or street lights, so security is also a concern.
“In such situations, residents must use additional incentives to drive a driver or offer to pay the toll tax for a round trip to the toll road.
Swati Singh, a resident of Vatika Seven Lamps, said recently she finally paid an additional amount to a driver to go up to the airport after the taxi driver they canceled the trip.
While Ola and Uber’s cab-aggregator did not respond to TOI questions, blusmart, electricity sharing vehicle providers, said they made “thousands” trips in these sectors.
“At present, we serve thousands of trips every month from the Gurgaon 70 to 93.
The company adds hundreds of electric cars to their fleets every month and we plan to serve more motorists,” Arun Anirudh, Head of the BLUSMART CABS operation, said.
Located about 18 km from Sector 77, Huda City Center is the nearest metro station in the area connected to Rajiv Chowk in Delhi.
But finding transportation for it is also not easy, say residents.
Meanwhile, Gurugram officials Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) said there was no new route planned for the current area.
Sudhir Rajpal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from the Authority of Metropolitan Gurugram (GMDA), however, appealed to residents to approach authority if there was a special request.
“We are always looking for a new route where there is a new request and a sufficient number of passengers.
However, there is a lot of time there are enough passengers when our bus goes to these sectors and they remain empty, which is not the right approach,” Rajpal said.
“We have a bus that runs in these sectors until now, and we continue to solve the route.
If there is a certain request, people can contact us and we will see this problem,” he added.
