Gurugram: Two people have been ordered for allegedly spelling Maulvi and forced him to shout ‘Jai Shri Ram’, the police said on Sunday.
The defendant, the police said, was a neighbor from Maulvi, Imam Abdul Hasib, who performed Friday Namaz at Sector 40.
According to Hasib’s complaint, the two men followed him when he was heading to sector 39 for some personal work around 11pm on Friday.
The men, complainants, asked him to stop doing Friday Namaz and “harassed and threatened (he) with terrible consequences”.
For several weeks, several groups have switched on NAMAZ sites on Friday and protested the prayer session.
“After misusing and threatening me for some time, they asked me to shout ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
Worried for my life, I repeated the singing several times.
The incident has been kicking me.

Aman Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), consciously, told TOI that the two accused, someone had been identified as Deepak Saini.
“The second was accused of being in the same society as a complainant.
Maulvi came out for some routine work on Friday when he was intercepted by these people who asked him to stop reading Friday Namaz,” ACP said.
The defendant had been ordered under the IPC 341 section (penalty for wrong restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 153A (promoting hostility between various groups with religious reasons, racial), 295 A (General Action), 34 (General Intentions), 34 ( general intention)).
