Sathean said that the appointment at the Open University of Sree Narayana Teacher was made by ignoring UGC rules and guidelines, as well as the appointment of Chancellor’s representative at the University of Kannur.
In his letter to the minister’s chairman, the governor has agreed to accusations of opposition regarding this issue.
He now must immediately take a step to correct his mistake, Satheani said.
He further said that the opposition would not let the university be converted into a large department from the AKG Center.
UDF will protest the government’s move and even the governor is not beyond criticism, he said.
Former opposition leader Rameesh Chennithala said that after the governor wrote to the minister’s chairman, the higher education sector in the country had jammed.
