Guwahati: Environmental scientists have advised people to wear facial masks not only to protect themselves from Covid-19 viruses but also to prevent other diseases caused by increasing pollution in the city because of the applicable dry weather.
Air quality in the city has gradually deteriorated from midfield last November.

The air quality was further dipped in “very poor” in the city on the night intervention December 31 and January 1, where people went to extinguish firecrackers.

The air quality index in and around the train colony area was 210 on Tuesday, 213 on Wednesday, 203 on Thursday, Friday, 306 on Saturday, 268 on Sunday and 251 on Monday.
