According to officials, in Chamarajanagar, there were no cases of Covid-19 who had been reported from the tribal hamlet in the third wave, while the case was very low in HD Kote Taluk in Mysuru Regency.
“Until now there are no cases reported among the district tribal population,” said Chamarajanagar District Health Officers Veshwaraiah K M.
Similar trends reported from HD Kobe Taluk, which also has a large tribal population.
“The cases are very few among the tribal population,” said the negligent health worker from Ravi Kumar.
According to these two officials, the main reason for the case of Covid-19 less among the tribal population is their lifestyle.
“They hardly visit the city, or make contact with the outside world.
Their movements are limited to forests and hamlets.
So there are fewer chances of tribes living in the hamlet contracted by a virus,” they said.
According to Dr.
Vespesharaiah, vaccination coverage both in tribal hamlets, with coverage of around 80-85%.
“In Tribal Hamlet in HD Kote, 81% of the tribal population target has now received a vaccine dose to protect against Covid-19,” said Ravi Kumar.
“Previously there was a vaccine doubt among the tribal population, but now it was resolved,” said Ravi Kumar.
