Rajkot: The jewelry showroom owner ended his life at his home on Jalan Karanjinhji in Kota Rajkot because of alleged abuse by his friend and his relatives.
The body of Ramesh Lodhiya (43) was found on Monday when firefighters opened the house.
According to the police, Lodhiya hasn’t answered his wife’s phone call Vairagi for the past few days.
The couple had lived separately for the past two years due to marital disputes.
Two of their children used to live with Vairagi.
On Monday, when the call was not answered again, Vairagi became suspicious and went to check Lodhiya.
Because he did not open the door, Vairagi called the fire brigade to ask for help.
The fire department opened the door and found Lodhiya’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.
The police said that Lodhiya left the 11-page tone.
In that note, Lodhiya said that he had taken extreme steps because of harassment by his old friend Krushnasinh Raizada, his wife Sobhnaba and six other family members.
When Raizada and his wife needed money, they had mortgaged their jewelry worth Rs 37 lakh with Lodhiya in his shop in Kothariya Road.
Lodhiya has lent the RS 21 lakh to a partner with a 2% monthly interest rate.
After earning money, Raizada and his family allegedly began to threaten Lodhiya to restore jewelry by threatening to submit a case against it under the laws of the loan money, the record stated.
They had even filed complaints at the Aji Dam police station which stated that Lodhiya illegally carried out a money loan business and collected high interest rates.
Because of that threat, Lodhiya has given Raizada Rs 11 Lakh, however, harassment continues.
Bored with threats and harassment, Lodhiya ended his life.
The police minister that Lodhiya died on September 18.
Police officers said that Lodhiya’s wife provided official statements and complaints, a violation would be registered against Raizada and his wife.
