Rohtak: In Kurukshetra district, 422 villages are labeled spots that are very suppressed or the red zone where the depth of the ground water table has been going on under 30m.
This district is also placed second in the state.
According to a Report on the Water Haryana (HWRA) Authority (HWRA) conducted at 6,885 villages in the state, 1,780 villages in Haryana were classified as severely pressed spots.

Fatehabad and Sirsa – The northern district of the state has 151 and 103 such villages stored in the red zone.
Rewari Regency, also part of Haryana Selatan, has fewer villages under spots emphasized by water in 91.
Rohtak and Jhajjar regencies do not have a village in the red zone but Jind District has 22 villages like that.
In NCR, Faridabad did not have a village in the red zone while Gurugram had 99 villages labeled Red Zone.
Bhiwani district bordering Rajasthan has 96 villages categorized as a red zone.
The report states that excessive water has been found in 85 of 141 blocks in the state.
The state only has 1,261 good groundwater potential villages.
A total of 85 villages have been included in severe water categories while 319 villages have been identified as potential villages.
Through public notification, HWRA urges people to send suggestions or objections to January 26 so that effective policy decisions can be taken.
