Chandigarh: Preparation for Election to Panchayti Raj Institutions – Zila Parishits, Block Samitis and Panchayats – have begun, because the department has continued a complete proposal’s cum action plan to the minister’s office (CMO) for his approval.
The impact of farmers’ agitation tends to be a major concern for the government in taking the last call.
When the election in Uttar Pradesh ends, the government can accelerate decisions about polls.
According to information, CMOs must receive a telephone if the Pancrayat election will be carried out before the civilian poll to 45 cities or after a civilian poll.
When the local body department has also completed lottery lots for neighborhood orders and city council presidents and city committees that must be passed by polls.
The source said Cm Manohar Lal Khattar and Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala had begun discussion about various problems related to polls.
CMO is likely to be decided next week, the source said.
ACS (Development and Panchayats) Amit Jha on Saturday confirmed that the file associated with the department’s plan has been forwarded to CMO.
He, however, expressed the inability to share further details.
According to the source, if all goes according to the proposed plan, the state can conduct a Pancayat poll in the first week of August and the model behavior model can take effect by around 20 July.
