MySuru: Life conditions and unhygienic lifestyles have produced several skin diseases among the tribal population in HD Kote Taluk Regency.
Bad access to health care only adds their misery.
Skin disease filtering camp was carried out by the Association of Doctors despite the Mysuru District in Hamlet Tribal Maranahadi under the boundary of Grama Panchayat, revealed that contact dermatitis, scabies and acne vulgaris were rampant among the tribal population.
300 tribes participated in the screening camp.
According to doctors, some women diagnosed with scabies in camps and free care are now given to them.
“In the camp, we found that around 50 tribes suffered several skin diseases.
Among them, 25 women were found suffering from scabies,” said HD Kote Health Officer Taluk Dr.
Ravi Kumar.
“We held this camp here in collaboration with the association.
The biggest challenge is to create awareness to maintain personal hygiene.
So, we urge people to give more interests to keep themselves clean, “Dr.
Kumar said.
“We distribute drugs for six months and personal hygiene care goods for all patients found suffering from skin diseases,” he said.
