Melbourne: Australian Women’s Cricket Team Deputy Captain Rachael Haynes has been ruled out from the test alone and the T20 international series of the next three matches against Indians who visited the right hamstring injury.
Haynes suffered a hamstring injury that was right for the third Odi in Mackay, which was won by India by two numbers but lost the three-match series 1-2.
The injury will see the opening of Haynes longing for the rest of the Indian tour – one running night test starting on Thursday at Carrara and also the following three T20i.
“Unfortunately (Haynes) Hamstring is not good,” Australian women’s team coach Matthew Mott was quoted by Cricket.com.au.
“He was destroyed – clear test matches did not come often, he was a key member of our squad so that our minds were with him right now.” In the absence of Haynes, Beth Mooney is likely to open the innings with Alyssa Healy.
Mott also said he died the Georgian Wareham leg-spinner, who had returned to training after suffering a quad injury in the second odi, would be fit to make his test debut on Thursday.
“Georgia marks all the boxes for him back to play.
He is very reasonable around it – he feels something early enough, gets treatment and has done everything he can to fix it,” he said.
“Personally, I really hope he passes him after being lost in the last test we play.
He’s a key member; no matter what goalkeeper, he’s a goalkeeper and he is a very good thing for this team – he leads the way on The field and his punch evolved all the time.
“So hopefully he gets a chance – he does everything in his strength to be ready.”
