Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, President K S alagiri on Saturday asked party cadres and the public to support the National Bharat Bandh who was summoned by collective farmers on September 27 against agricultural laws.
Mahapachayat farmers have called for the National Bandh to condemn the rejection of the BJP government to attract three controversial agricultural laws.
“It is the responsibility and duties of farmers and political parties in Tamil Nadu to support national bandh,” said Alagiri in a statement.
“The public must support Bandh September 27 to express their solidarity to farmers who have protested in Delhi for 10 months now,” he said.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not heed the petition of farmers who protested.
This shows PM’s mindset towards the agricultural community.
The agricultural law was introduced without taking the views of the opposition parties with consideration and it would support the company,” he said.
