Nagpur: One-year-old Cub Leopard was hunted at the Narghed Forest Range under the Nagpur division on Tuesday.
The headless carcass of the animal was found floating in Nullah on Jalan Banor-Thadipaoni.
According to the Deputy Forest Conservator (DYCF) Bharat Singh Hada, his son seemed to have been killed three days ago.
“We found the head of the Cub it was almost 100 meters away from the place,” he said.
According to sources, the leopard was suspected of being trapped in a trap, it might be placed for rabbits for Bushmeat.
After finding a leopard in a trap, the hunters suspected of trying to destroy proof by cutting animal heads.
The incident once again highlighted the hunt for large-scale herbivores by locals for meat.
According to RTI information, 58 leopards and 26 tigers have died of hunting, most of whom include poisoning, traps, and electricity.
The Leopard Carcass was shifted to the seminer transit transit treatment center.
