Patna: After a bad show at 2021 Swachh Survekshan, Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to adopt a zero and three R waste approach (reduce, reuse, and recycle) in all 55 people.
At a special PMC board meeting on Saturday, Patna Mayor Sita Sahu discussed various ways to improve civil facilities and announce that cleanliness drives will be held in all wards from December 15 to January 14.
“Top three wards, which shows the overall increase in civil facilities, will receive awards and cash prizes.
In addition, people and organizations, which help the Civic body keep the city clean, will be respected by us,” said Mayor.
Sahu asked the executive officers of Azimabad, BankiPore, CancerBagh, the new capital, Patliputra and Patna City Circles to monitor the garbage collection facilities from door-to-door and ensure that the road is regularly cleaned and the complaints of people removed.
He also told them to do surprise inspections of different environments from time to time.
“PMC has decided to collect hazardous waste, sanitary napkins and diapers in separate trash cans.
Members of the Council of Environment will organize encouragement in this regard immediately,” said Mayor, adding that construction waste and demolition will also be collected by the civilian body separately, Converted into small particles to build roads.
He continued, “The special team will be formed to impose a ban on plastic use, raising awareness about the harmful effects and punishing violators.” According to sources, paintings, writing Jingle, short films and road play competitions will be held by PMC to create awareness about drives of cleanliness and plastic prohibitions among the masses.
Commissioner of PMC Anesh Kumar ParaAshar, Deputy Mayor of Rajni Devi and all members of the neighborhood council attended the meeting.
