Noida: Noida authorities have written to the developer of the Sportsswood Society, who reported nine cases of hepatitis A since November 29, to take steps to improve the quality of water that reached households.
Authority, which on Sunday sent a team to the public, pointing to the possibility of recycled water mixed with being supplied to the flat.
The team that has examined the storage facilities and overhead tanks in the community on Sundays have put aside problems with water supplied from the outside.
Developers are now asked to collect water samples from various points on the internal network and send them for testing.
“There is a possibility that the water processed (used for flushing) will be mixed with drinking water and cause contamination.
Direct testing of samples and improvement steps is needed,” Letters from the Department of Water and Sewerage Authority Noida.
“We will receive a call about this problem when the results are available,” said a senior authority official.
The sample results are expected on Wednesday.
Sanwarjeet Singh, a resident of Sector 79 Society, said, “Fortunately, there is no fresh case of hepatitis A or jaundice.
The population has begun to buy water packaging or boil water before drinking.
We will wait for the test results.
If necessary, we will test the sample from the flats Where people have been infected.
“Authority has also requested developers to take samples from two different towers.
“Even though the storage tank is different, we feel the water treated mixed with water that reaches households.
So, samples from overhead tanks, supply lines and households where cases are found to be checked,” said an official.
