Mangaluru: The tension applies outside the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College in Udupi on Tuesday after a group of students arrived in saffron turban and scarves to fight the students wore Burkha.
When the students demanded that they must be allowed to wear a hijab in the classroom, college authorities rushed at the entrance to convince them.
The students who wore Burkha demanded that they be allowed in the class to take the exam and they refused to enter the classroom without a headscarf who stated that they had been wearing it since childhood.
College has delivered to the students on Monday that they are in the process of applying a dress code.
Ayesha, a student said that the rules should be held at the beginning of the year and not when there were several days left to end the academic year.
Shruthi, said other students, we did not oppose anyone, we just wanted equality in class.
College closed after protesting the principle of college, Devidas S risen said, “MGM College is a healthy campus.
Our students have been provoked due to problems from outside.
Holidays have been stated that the situation is controlled.
We will respect court decisions and future decisions will be taken by management.
Until then the college will remain closed.
