Udupi: A student from the Government of PU College for a daughter in Udupi has submitted a memorandum to the Principal of Rudre Gowda and MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, who asked them to continue the regular class.
The petition was signed by three other students.
The hijab controversy first broke out in this college in the last week of December after six girls demanded permission to wear a hijab in the classroom.
Shilpa, a student, told reporters on Monday, said, “Just because six girls, all universities cannot suffer.
We want to go to college,” Meanwhile, Yashpal Suvarna, Vice President, the College Development Committee (CDC ), said the controversy was not created by college.
“This is a problem made by several other organizations to destroy educational policies,” Suvarna said.
“From 2004 to 30 December last 30 years, there were no problems on campus.
Universities delivered education and for this reason we have more than 1,000 students on rolls.
The students were brainwashed and trained after they participated in the protest organized by ABVP.
