Shimla: Sixteen houses at the beginning and around 150 people were deemed unprotected after a large fire broke out in a village in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, a disaster management official said.
One person was injured in the fire incident that took place in the village of Malana at 1.28 in the morning, said the state disaster management director Sudesh Kumar Mokhta.
Expressing sadness, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Tweet said, “The fire incident in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh was very painful.
I extended my sympathy to all families who suffered in this tragedy in the historic village of Malana.
The state and local government administration is involved in work Assistance and rescue with Alacrity.
“Minister of UNION Amit Shah’s house and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also expressed the sadness of the fire tragedy and said the administration was involved in rescue work.
“Very sadly with the damage caused by fire in the village of Malana in Himachal Pradesh.
I revealed my sympathy to all the villagers whose homes were damaged in this accident.
The state and administrative governments are involved in rescue work,” Shah said in Tweet in Hindi.
Thakur has directed the district government to provide assistance and rehabilitation to affected families.
Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg, along with other officers, visited the place and supervised assistance work, said a government spokesman.
