Udupi City Police have ordered a case against Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) leaders to hold ‘Durga Doud’, March ‘Shakti Sanchalan’ Hindu, who violated the Covid-19 protocol.
The parade was held on Fridays and cases were registered with the provisions of the Actions and parts of the Karnataka Epidemic Epidemic based on the complaints submitted by Udaya Kumar Shetty, Commissioner of Udupi City City.
The Branch of the Udupi District of HJV has organized a parade from Kadiyali Mahishamardini’s temple to the Amma Mahakali Temple in Ambalpady, a distance of 2 km.
The complaint said the organizers did not obtain permission from the authorities concerned, and also violated Covid-19 safety guidelines by holding public meetings.
The police said that in addition to Part 5 (1) the law of Karnataka epidemic, HJV leaders were ordered under the IPC 188 section (disobedience to be properly ordered announced by public servants) and 269 (negligent actions tended to spread disease infections for life).
Durga’s Doug program is held by HJV as part of their ‘Hindu exchange’ movement to increase religious spirit.
Energy minister V Sunil Kumar and K Raghupati Bhat, Udupi MLA, was present.
The police clarified that cases were ordered only to the organizers and not those who participated in the event.
