Mangaluru: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) has suggested passengers to allocate extra time to travel to the airport, because of heavy passenger traffic.
The passenger flow for arrival and departure is likely to be high until January 15.
According to Mia officials, the allocation of additional time will help passengers have a smooth trip, and to complete the formalities related to travel and the security protocol must be timely.
At present, international passengers are required to arrive at least five hours before departure, and domestic passengers must be there at the airport, two hours before departure.
“In the expected rush, the international domestic passengers who come to MIA have to allocate at least an extra hour.
Until now, international and domestic flights are running with a total of 90% occupancy,” said the senior executive of low-cost airlines.
Heavy Rush will start from January 1 and so on, and continue until January 15.
Although strange time, tickets for Kuwait-Mangaloru flights and Mangaluru-Dammam flights have been sold out.
Rush is expected, especially for those traveling after 7:00 on Monday, and from January 8 and so on.
“Rush will be there until 11pm, because 18 flights will depart and arrive, with a total of 1,200 passengers,” said an aviation expert.
Passengers say that construction work in a place where the airport will have a special arrival area, is a disparaging passenger who landed at the airport.
Spicejet will add new flights from Mangaluru to Sharjah from January 8.
It is a four weekly flight, which will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Reservations have begun for the same thing.
