Guwahati: All Housing School Housings in Assam will be fully reopened from November 1.
The latest order issued by state education states that for class I to VIII students, Hostel will be reopened from 1 November while IX and XI students have been allowed to enter the hostel from 19 October.
Students of the final class undergraduate class (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) (PG) have lived in hostels.
The source in the Ministry of Education said before November 1, students from the rest of the UG and PG classes would also be able to join their hostels.
“Because of the enhanced Covid-19 situation, the Government Assam, after being considered all parameters, gladly to notify that hostels in school housing / school children were allowed to function for class IX and XI WEF 19/10/2021 and from class I to viii wef 1 st November, 2021, “read orders.

Even though the physical class for the basic level (I to VIII) will be continued on October 19, the reopening of the hostel has been a little delayed to oversee the situation.

This will be a quick transition,” the principal secretary of the State Education Department, B Kalyan Chakravarthy, told toi on Sunday.
Even because only a few districts in Assam have a level of participants above 1%, the Ministry of Education officials hope that the offline hostel and class will begin smoothly.
“We want special government observations at hostels such as school children may not remember to maintain social distance,” said Secretary General of Association (ASTTA) Assam State (ASTTA), Ratul Chandra Goswami.
The Ministry of Education, however, has clarified that in cases in the district, the level of participants run above 2% on certain days, DC from the district concerned, consulting with the Mission Director, the National Health Mission, will close the educational institution.
