Kolhapur / Bengaluru: The shops and hotels owned by Kannada speaking people in Kolhapur are closed on Saturday, while the vehicle with the Karnataka registration plate faces obstacles to the testimony of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Bengaluru.

Rajya Sabha MP Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati said, “Temptating Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is very damned.
The central and government of Karnataka must take serious actions against the perpetrators.
” Kolhapur Regent Shiv Sena Sanjay Pawar said, “This will not be accepted.
The perpetrators must be punished soon.
If not, the intensity of our agitation will increase.
” Meanwhile, Bengaluru police have launched a hunt for the people involved in the stabilization of statues in Bashyam Circle in Sadashivanagar on Friday night.
The incident was revealed on Saturday morning after passing the police, who cleaned the statue and spread additional personnel to thwart any reply attack.
The police registered FIR based on complaints by members of the Maratha Karnataka Welfare Association (KMWA).
The police have been called different parts of Indian Criminal Code including 153-A (promoting disharmony, hostility or hatred among different groups on the basis of religion, language or race) and 427 (causing damage to public property) to unknown people.
Police Commissioner Bengaluru (Central) M n Anuchet said, “This particular statue Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is located in a park near the lake.
Criminals have sneaked into the park at night and smeared with paint.
” Other senior officers say all Jurisdiction DCPs in Bengaluru have been warned to keep guarding the statues in their area.
“Also, the police have been more deployed at the KSRTC bus terminal, where the bus from Maharashtra arrives and departs,” he said.
The incident occurred amid increasing tensions in Beleagavi Regency, which was on the border of Maharashtra-Karnataka, and the burning of Kannada flags in Kolhapur on the 15th.
On Friday morning, Kannada activists also burned flags in Chitradurga.
