Chandigarh: Faster than Punjab Neighbors in Covid-19 Vaccination, Haryana has been lazy when it comes to managing a booster dose to people and invests those under 18 years old, because the numbers released by the Ministry of Health suggest.
Until Monday, Gurgaon has the best dose of 49,325 booster, while only five districts have this number more than 10,000.
Until Monday night, 2,07,369 health workers, frontline workers, senior citizens, and those who have a booster dose, so coverage is not even 25% of the estimated amount of 9.75 lakh.
In the under 18 category, only 10.25 lakh of 16 people targeted by 16 lakh who received the first dose, while only 2.92 lakh was fully vaccinated with the second dose.
The Ministry of Health claims the total beneficiaries in three categories are more than 6 lakh.
The majority of those who remember booster are frontline workers, besides senior citizens.
The source in the wing immunization accepts that the numbers are true but they blame an increase in infection among health workers for low additions for the booster dose.
A senior official in the Ministry of Health said: “Most health care workers get a virus in the third wave, so their deadline to get a three-month extended booster dose.
Second, the booster dose is voluntary and not mandatory, therefore satisfaction.” The schools have just opened recently, so students will also take their own time.
The Ministry of Health hopes to cover 100% of them before the council exam.
Parents are waiting for more companies to launch their child vaccine.
Until Monday night, Haryana had provided 4,04,42,739 vaccine doses, reaching 100% of the first dose target and 83% of the second.
